[ GSIS Resolution No. 202, December 11, 2014 ]

APPROVAL OF THE REVISED POLICY AND PROCEDURAL GUIDELINES ON PENSION ADMINISTRATION

Adopted: 11 December 2014
Date Filed: 26 January 2015

WHEREAS, the Board issued Resolution No. 45 dated 23 May 2013 approving the Policy and Procedural Guidelines on Pension Administration (PPG No. 229-13);

WHEREAS, the Legal Services Group, in its Memorandum dated 8 April 2014, opined that the claim of GSIS for pension overpayment should be made against the estate of the deceased, and not against the benefits accruing to a surviving spouse who happens to be a regular member of the GSIS (i.e. dual role member) since they have separate and distinct legal personalities with respect to employment and the respective benefits arising therefrom;

WHEREAS, there is a need to review the existing policies on the recovery of pension overpayments and outstanding receivables of deceased pensioners;

RESOLVED, to APPROVE and CONFIRM the Revised PPG on Pension Administration, as proposed by the Senior Vice President, NCR Operations Group in her Memorandum dated 9 December 2014;

RESOLVED FURTHER, that Board Resolution No. 45 dated 23 May 2013 is hereby SUPERSEDED.

A copy of the Revised PPG on Pension Administration[*] is made an integral part of this Resolution.
