[ REPUBLIC ACT NO. 6641, December 23, 1987 ]

AN ACT ALLOWING QUALIFIED VOTERS OF THE CITY OF MANDAUE TO VOTE IN PROVINCIAL ELECTIONS OF THE PROVINCE OF CEBU, AMENDING FOR THE PURPOSE REPUBLIC ACT NUMBERED FIFTY-FIVE HUNDRED AND NINETEEN



Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the Philippines in Congress assembled:

SECTION 1. The first paragraph of Section Ninety-six of Republic Act Numbered Fifty-five hundred and nineteen, entitled "An Act Creating the City of Mandaue," is amended to read as follows:
"SEC. 96. Participation of voters in provincial election. - The qualified voters in the city shall be entitled to vote in any election for the offices of the provincial governor, vice-governor, and members of the provincial board of the Province of Cebu, and any of such qualified voters can be a candidate for any provincial office."
SEC. 2. All existing laws or parts thereof inconsistent with the provisions of this Act are hereby repealed or modified accordingly.
 
SEC. 3. This Act shall take effect upon its approval.
