WHEREAS, the Fall of Bataan and the Fall of Corregidor are historic milestones in our nationhood;

WHEREAS, it is deemed fitting and proper to commemorate these historic events with appropriate activities and/or ceremonies in order to impress our people as well as the rest of the world of the valor and sacrifices of those who fought and died during the epic struggle for freedom and democracy, and of the transcending significance of such struggle in our national development and aspirations;

NOW, THEREFORE, I, FERDINAND E. MARCOS, President of the Philippines, by virtue of the powers vested in me by law, do hereby constitute and create an Executive Committee to formulate plans and devise ways and means for the successful execution of appropriate activities and/or ceremonies for the commemoration of the 37th anniversary of the Fall of Bataan and the Fall of Corregidor.

The Committee may request any ministry, bureau, office, agency or instrumental of the government for such assistance as it may need, and to create such committee, sub-committee or staffs as may be necessary.
