[ EXECUTIVE ORDER NO. 204, October 09, 1956 ]
RENAMING THE CORREGIDOR-BATAAN NATIONAL SHRINES COMMISSION CREATED UNDER EXECUTIVE ORDER NO. 58 DATED AUGUST 16, 1954, AS THE NATIONAL SHRINES COMMISSION, MODIFYING THE MEMBERSHIP THEREOF, AND GIVING IT ADDITIONAL FUNCTIONS.
1. The Corregidor-Bataan National Shrines Commission created by Executive Order No. 58 dated August 16, 1954, is hereby renamed the National Shrines Commission and it shall be composed of the Secretary of National Defense, as Chairman, the Secretary of Agriculture and Natural Resources and the Secretary of Commerce and Industry, as Vice-Chairmen, the Secretary of Public Works and Communications, the Chief of Staff of the Armed Forces of the Philippines, the Civil Aeronautics Administrator, the President of the Philippine Association, the President of the Philippine Tourist and Travel Association, the National Commander of the War Veterans of the Philippines, Inc., and the Chairman of the Historical Workers Committee, as members.
2. In addition to the mission assigned to it by Executive Order No. 58, the Commission shall proceed to determine that other battlefields anywhere else in the country should be declared National Shrines and, once such areas are so declared officially, shall assume and exercise, in regard to them, the same duties and powers assigned to it with respect to the battlefield areas in Corregidor-Island and Bataan Province.
3. Executive Order No. 58 dated August 16, 1954, as amended by Executive Order No. 87 dated January 5, 1955, and Executive Order No. 94 dated February 7, 1955, is hereby further modified accordingly.
