[ EXECUTIVE ORDER NO. 225, June 15, 1949 ]

APPROPRIATING FUNDS FOR THE OPERATION OF THE GOVERNMENT OF THE REPUBLIC OF THE PHILIPPINES DURING THE PERIOD FROM JULY 1, 1949 TO JUNE 30, 1950, AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES



WHEREAS, the First Congress of the Philippines in its Fourth Session failed to pass a General Appropriation Act for the operation of the Government of the Republic of the Philippines during the period from July 1, 1949 to June 30, 1950; and

WHEREAS, the absence of a General Appropriation Act will paralyze all the functions and activities of the Government;

NOW, THEREFORE, I, Elpidio Quirino, President of the Philippines, by virtue of the powers vested in me by the Constitution and existing laws, particularly Commonwealth Act No. 671 do hereby order:

SECTION 1. Republic Act No. 320, appropriating the sum of P232,300,297 is hereby continued in force for the same purposes, services and activities for the fiscal year ending June thirtieth, nineteen hundred and fifty, or until such time as the Congress may determine otherwise

SEC. 2. The provisions of Republic Act No. 320 are hereby reenacted and made a part hereof.

SEC. 3. This Order shall take effect on July 1, 1949.
