[ EXECUTIVE ORDER NO. 275, September 30, 1949 ]

ABOLISHING THE SURPLUS PROPERTY COMMISSION AND TRANSFERING ITS POWERS, FUNCTIONS AND DUTIES TO THE COMMITTEE CREATED UNDER ADMINISTRATIVE ORDER NO. 90, DATED MAY 19, 1949.



Pursuant to the powers vested in me by law, I, Elpidio Quirino, President of the Philippines, do hereby abolish the Surplus Property Commission created under Executive Order No. 27, dated November 18, 1946, and transfer its powers, functions, and duties to the Committee created under Administrative Order No. 90 dated May 19, 1949, which is hereby named Surplus Property Liquidating Committee.

All properties, records, funds and appropriations of the former Surplus Property Commission are hereby transferred to the Surplus Property Liquidating Committee.

The Surplus Property Liquidating Committee is hereby charged with the duty of disposing of the remaining surplus properties and of liquidating the accounts of the Surplus Property Commission within the shortest time possible.

The said Committee is hereby empowered, with the approval of the President, to appoint and fix the salaries of the personnel necessary for the performance of its work.

This Order shall take effect on October 1, 1949.

Done in the City of Manila, this 30th day of September, in the year of Our Lord, nineteen hundred and forty-nine, and of the Independence of the Philippines, the third.
