[ EXECUTIVE ORDER NO. 242-A, July 26, 1987 ]

MODIFYING EXECUTIVE ORDER NO. 242 DATED JULY 24, 1987 WHICH AMENDS EXECUTIVE ORDER NO. 133, SERIES OF 1987, ENTITLED "REORGANIZING THE DEPARTMENT OF TRADE AND INDUSTRY, AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES."



I, CORAZON C. AQUINO, President of the Republic of the Philippines, by virtue of the powers vested in me by the Constitution, do hereby order:

Section 1. The designation of Undersecretaries for specific areas and offices is hereby modified in the sense that the Secretary is hereby authorized to designate any Undersecretaries to supervise the bureaus, offices and agencies, including the attached entities consistent with the mandate of the Department.

Section 2. In addition to an existing Foreign Trade Service Corps, the President may appoint Trade Commissioners with the rank of Assistant Secretary to coordinate trade and investment matters in the various continents to which they are assigned for the purpose of increasing trade and investments.

Section 3. No extra funding is authorized under this executive order.

Section 4. This Executive Order shall take effect immediately.
