[ EXECUTIVE ORDER NO. 82, December 24, 1945 ]
AUTHORIZING THE PHILIPPINES PRESS WIRELESS, INC., MANILA, TO HANDLE BY RADIO TYPES OF SERVICE BESIDES THAT AUTHORIZED BY THE COMPANY S FRANCHISE, COMMONWEALTH ACT NUMBERED THREE HUNDRED AND EIGHTY-SIX, TO AND FROM MANILA TO AND FROM POINTS EXTERIOR TO THE PHILIPPINES, UNTIL JANUARY TWENTY-FOURTH, NINETEEN HUNDRED AND FORTY-SIX.
WHEREAS, all telecommunication services to and from points in the Philippines to and from points exterior thereto authorized by the Commonwealth Government to engage in such services where disrupted at the out-break of the war;
WHEREAS, the Philippine Press Wireless, Inc., a company authorized to maintain and operate radio stations for the wireless reception and transmission or wordage, pictures or other matter intended for publication, to and from points in the Philippines, to and from points exterior thereto, reestablished its radio station in Manila and for general public and military necessity, furnished the much needed transoceanic communication services including that type of service which is not authorized in its franchise; and
WHEREAS, telecommunication facilities so far re-established since liberation are still inadequate to cope with the needs of the general public as well as those of the armed forces in this area, especially with the expected increased volume of radio traffic during the coming holiday season;
NOW, THEREFORE, I, SERGIO OSME A, President of the Philippines, in the interest of public welfare and by virtue of the powers vested in me by the Constitution and existing laws of the Philippines, do hereby authorize the aforementioned Philippine Press Wireless, Inc., to continue handling telecommunication services besides that type of service authorized in its franchise, until January twenty-fourth, nineteen hundred and forty-six.
