[ PROCLAMATION NO. 11, July 16, 1945 ]
DECLARING WEDNESDAY, AUGUST FIRST, NINETEEN HUNDRED AND FORTY-FIVE, A SPECIAL PUBLIC HOLIDAY
WHEREAS, August 1, 1945, will be the first anniversary of the death of Manuel L. Quezon, first President of the Commonwealth of the Philippines;
WHEREAS, it would be fitting that Filipinos everywhere, in the homeland and abroad, be given an opportunity to go to their churches to pray for our departed beloved leader and hold memorial services to honor his memory and extol his character and public service;
NOW, THEREFORE, in pursuance of the provisions of Section 30 of the Revised Administrative Code, I, SERGIO OSME A, President of the Philippines, do hereby proclaim Wednesday, August 1, 1945, a special public holiday.
IN WITNESS WHEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand and caused the seal of the Commonwealth of the Philippines to be affixed.
Done at the City of Manila, this 16th day of July, in the year of Our Lord, nineteen hundred and forty-five, and of the Commonwealth of the Philippines, the tenth.
