PROVIDING FOR A NATION-WIDE CAMPAIGN TO RAISE FUNDS FOR THE ERECTION OF A NATIONAL MONUMENT IN HONOR OF THE LATE PRESIDENT MANUEL L. QUEZON.



WHEREAS, Manuel L. Quezon, the late President of the Philippines, dedicated his life and labors to the service of his country; and

WHEREAS, in recognition of the great services which the late President Quezon rendered to his country and people, it is but fitting and proper that a national monument be erected in his honor;

NOW, THEREFORE, I, SERGIO OSME A, President of the Philippines, do hereby proclaim a nation-wide campaign to raise funds for the erection of a national monument in honor of the late President Manuel L. Quezon, and, for this purpose, designate January 2, 1946, as the date for the commencement of this campaign until a total of at least ?250,000 shall have been raised.

I enjoin all citizens and residents of the Philippines to give the Quezon Memorial Committee created by Executive Order No. 79, their full support and co-operation. I also direct all treasurers of the National, provincial, and municipal governments and of chartered cities to accept voluntary contributions and to issue official receipts thereof.

IN WITNESS WHEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand and caused the seal of the Commonwealth of the Philippines to be affixed.
