[ PROCLAMATION NO. 38, May 27, 1946 ]

DECLARING TUESDAY, MAY 28, 1946, AS A SPECIAL PUBLIC HOLIDAY



Whereas the 28th day of May, 1946 is set aside in section 13 of Commonwealth Act No. 725, as the date when the President and Vice President elect shall qualify and assume office;

Whereas it is fitting and proper that said date be observed with appropriate ceremonies;

Whereas there should be provided full opportunity for the general public to participate in such ceremonies in order that the day may be fittingly observed and its significance duly realized by all citizens;

NOW, THEREFORE, I, SERGIO OSME A, President of the Philippines, pursuant to the provisions of Section 30 of the Administrative Code, do hereby declare Tuesday, May 28, 1946 as a special public holiday.

IN WITNESS WHEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand and caused the seal of the Commonwealth of the Philippines to be affixed. Done at the City of Manila, this 27th day of May, in the year of Our Lord, nineteen hundred and forty-six, and of the Commonwealth of the Philippines, the eleventh.
