PRESCRIBING REGULATIONS REGARDING TRANSPORTATION ALLOWANCES OF PROVINCIAL AND CITY GOVERNMENT OFFICIALS AND EMPLOYEES AND REVOKING EXECUTIVE ORDER NO. 457 SERIES OF 1933



By virtue of the powers vested in me by law, I, MANUEL L. QUEZON, President of the Philippines, do hereby promulgate the following rules and regulations regarding allowances of automobiles and other means of transportation privately owned by provincial and city officials and employees, effective as of January first, nineteen hundred and thirty-seven:

a) For provinces and cities having 300 kilometers or longer of declared first- and second-class roads-

Governors, mayors, treasurers, and engineers

P60.00

Health officers, auditors, and other provincial and city officials

P50.00

b) For provinces and cities having 200 kilometers or longer of declared first- and second-class roads but shorter than 300 kilometers-

Governors, mayors, treasurers, and engineers

P50.00

Health officers, auditors, and other provincial and city officials

P40.00

c) For provinces and cities having 100 kilometers or longer of declared first- and second-class roads but shorter than 200 kilometers-

Governors, mayors, treasurers, and engineers

P40.00

Health officers, auditors, and other provincial and city officials

P30.00

2. For the other means of transportation, the maximum monthly rates will be follows:

For motor launch

P30.00

For motorcycle

P15.00

For horse

P  5.00

3. The rates of such transportation allowances shall not exceed the following:

For automobile

4. The distance covered in going from residence to office and vice versa shall not be included in the claim for the allowance.

5. The maximum monthly allowances and rates fixed in this Order shall govern in those cases where such means of transportation are owned and operated by provinces and chartered cities.

6. This Order shall apply only to provinces and chartered cities, and hereafter, no other government entity or instrumentality shall be allowed to grant transportation allowances to any of its officers and employees.

7. Executive Order Numbered Four hundred fifty-seven, series of nineteen hundred and thirty-three, and all other orders, rules, and regulations which are inconsistent herewith are hereby revoked.
