CREATING THE NATIONAL BOARD OF SURVEYS AND MAPS



By virtue of the powers vested in me by law, I, MANUEL L. QUEZON, President of the Philippines, do hereby constitute and create the National Board of Surveys and Maps, which shall consists of six members to be appointed by the President for a term of three years, who shall elect from among themselves the chairman of the Board and its secretary: Provided, that for the first Board to be constituted, two members shall be appointed for a term three years, two for a term of two years, and two for a term of one year. Members shall be selected from those departments of the Government whose activities are concerned with mapping and from outstanding members of the citizenry interested therein.

The duties of the Board shall be to act in an advisory capacity to the President on all legislation affecting the various surveying and mapping activities conducted by, or under control of, the National Government. The Board shall also act in an advisory capacity to the various Departments and Bureaus of the Government and shall make recommendations to those offices on matters referred to it.

Executive Order Numbered Two hundred sixty-two and the amendatory Executive Order Numbered Two hundred seventy-eight, series of nineteen hundred and thirty, creating the Former Board of Surveys and Maps, are hereby repealed.
