CREATING AN ANNIVERSARY COMMITTEE TO FORMULATE PLANS AND DEVISE WAYS AND MEANS FOR THE APPROPRIATE CELEBRATION EVERY YEAR OF NOVEMBER 15TH



WHEREAS, the fifteenth of November, nineteen hundred and thirty-five, is of historical import to the Filipino people as it was on this day that the Commonwealth of the Philippines was proclaimed and inaugurated; and

WHEREAS, in order to impress upon our people and especially upon the youth of the land the significance of this important event in our national life, it is fitting and proper that the day be observed every year with appropriate celebration;

Now, therefore, I, Manuel L. Quezon, President of the Philippines, by virtue of the powers vested in me by law, do hereby constitute and create an Anniversary Committee to be composed of the Secretary of the Interior as Chairman, and sixteen members who shall be designated by the President from time to time.

The Committee shall meet at the call of the Chairman and shall make the necessary arrangements for the most appropriate way of celebrating the occasion every year.

Done at the City of Manila, this eighteenth day of September, in the year of the Our Lord, nineteen hundred and thirty-seven, and of the Commonwealth of the Philippines, the second.
