DECLARING THE THIRD WEEK OF JANUARY OF EVERY YEAR AS NATIONAL MENTAL HEALTH WEEK
WHEREAS, sound mental health is necessary to the attainment of individual happiness and efficiency, to the establishment of peace, and order, and to the promotion of economic and cultural progress;
NOW, THEREFORE, I, Carlos P. Garcia, President of the Philippines, do hereby proclaim the third week of January of every year as National Mental Health Week and designate the Philippine Mental Health Association to take charge of the celebration thereof. I call upon all government and non-government entities and all residents of the Philippines to lend their cooperation and support to the observance of the week.
Proclamation No. 37 dated June 25, 1954, is hereby revoked.
IN WITNESS WHEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand and caused the seal of the Republic of the Philippines to be affixed.
Done in the City of Manila, this 12th day of August, in the year of Our Lord, nineteen hundred and fifty-seven, and of the Independence of the Philippines, the twelfth.
