DECLARING WEDNESDAY, OCTOBER 23, 1957, AS A SPECIAL PUBLIC HOLIDAY IN THE PROVINCE OF ILOCOS NORTE



WHEREAS, Juan Luna, patriot and painter, was born on October 23, 1857, in the municipality of Badoc, province of Ilocos Norte;

WHEREAS, the Juan Luna Centennial Commission requests that the patriot ™s birthday this year be declared a special public holiday in the province of Ilocos Norte so that the people of his native province may be afforded the opportunity to commemorate his 100th birthday anniversary;

NOW, THEREFORE, I, Carlos P. Garcia, President of the Philippines, by virtue of the authority vested in me by section 30 of the Revised Administrative Code, do hereby declare Wednesday, October 23, 1957, as a special public holiday in the province of Ilocos Norte.

IN WITNESS WHEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand and caused the seal of the Republic of the Philippines to be affixed.

Done in the City of Baguio, this 13th day of October, in the year of Our Lord, nineteen hundred and fifty-seven, and of the Independence of the Philippines, the twelfth.
