REQUIRING ALL GOVERNMENT-OWNED VESSELS UTILIZED IN MARITIME COMMERCE AND PRIVATELY-OWNED VESSELS ACQUIRED THROUGH REPARATIONS BUT NOT YET FULLY PAID, TO ACCEPT CADETS FROM THE PHILIPPINE MERCHANT MARITIME ACADEMY FOR SHIPBOARD TRAINING
WHEREAS, the Philippine Nautical School was converted into the Philippine Merchant Marino Academy (PMMA) in June 1963 by virtue of Republic Act No. 3630; and
WHEREAS, a phase of the course leading to the degree of Bachelor of Science in Marine Transportation requires the embarkation of its cadets on various vessels in the merchant marine for practical training purposes;
NOW, THEREFORE, I, FERDINAND E. MARCOS, President of the Philippines, by virtue of the powers vested in me by law, do hereby order that all government-owned vessels utilized in maritime commerce and privately-owned vessels acquired through the reparations but not yet fully paid, shall henceforth accept at least two cadets of the PMMA per vessel, one for the Deck and the other for the Engine Department, for purposes of training, with quarters and subsistence usually pertaining to ship s officers duly provided them.
Done in the City of Manila, this 28th day of May, in the year of Our Lord, nineteen hundred and sixty-seven.
