ABOLISHING THE LABOR CODE COMMITTEE CREATED UNDER EXECUTIVE ORDER NO. 172 DATED OCTOBER 4, 1965.



WHEREAS, a Labor Code Committee was created under Executive Order No. 172 dated October 4, 1965, to study, examine and harmonize existing laws, policies and regulations, and submit recommendations for the amendment, revision and codifications of labor and social legislations;

WHEREAS, its task of preparing a Labor Code is being undertaken by the Code Commission; and

WHEREAS, there is unnecessary duplication of work by two government agencies in contravention of the principles of sound management;

NOW, THEREFORE, I, FERDINAND E. MARCOS, President of the Philippines, by virtue of the powers vested in me by law, do hereby abolish the Labor Code Committee created under Executive Order No. 172 dated October 4, 1965, and assign its functions to the Code Commission.
