DECLARING THE PERIOD FROM DECEMBER 8 TO DECEMBER 14, 1968, AS HISTORY WEEK



WHEREAS, a national conference and symposium on the life and achievements of Andres Bonifacio, the Great Plebeian, is being sponsored by, the Philippine Historical Association during the second week of December, 1963, as fitting tribute, to the memory of that great hero; and

WHEREAS, it is necessary that the event be brought to the attention of the people to arouse greater interest in and appreciation for the life and deeds of our heroes and historical events as a guide in the task of nation-building;

NOW, THEREFORE, I, Diosdado Macapagal, President of the Philippines, by virtue of the powers vested in me by law, do hereby declare the period from December 8 to December 14, 1963, as History Week, and enjoin all our people, particularly those in the public and private schools, colleges, and universities, and also the officers and members of learned and civic associations to take active part in commemoration of the Week.

IN WITNESS WHEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand and caused the seal of the Republic of the Philippines to be affixed.
