[ PROCLAMATION NO. 78, June 25, 1948 ]

FURTHER EXTENDING FOR ONE DAY THE PERIOD OF THE SPECIAL SESSION OF THE CONGRESS OF THE PHILIPPINES AUTHORIZED UNDER PROCLAMATION NO. 71, DATED JUNE 6, 1948, AS EXTENDED.



WHEREAS, the special session of the Congress of the Philippines authorized under Proclamation No. 71, as extended, will expire at midnight of June 25, 1948;

WHEREAS, the public interest requires that this special session be further extended to consider and finish urgent legislative measures;

NOW, THEREFORE, I, Elpidio Quirino, President of the Philippines, by virtue of the powers vested in me by the Constitution, do hereby further extend for one day, June 26, 1948, the period of the special session of the Congress of the Philippines authorized under Proclamation No. 71, dated June 6, 1948, as extended by Proclamation No. 77, dated June 24, 1948, for the purpose of considering pending bills and other urgent legislation as the President may submit to it.

All persons entitled to sit as members of the Congress of the Philippines are requested to take notice of this proclamation.
