DECLARING THURSDAY, AUGUST 19, 1943, A SPECIAL PUBLIC HOLIDAY IN THE PROVINCE OF QUEZON.



WHEREAS, the 19th day of August, 1948, marks the 70th anniversary of the birth of the late President Manuel L. Quezon; and

WHEREAS, it is fitting and proper that his birthday anniversary be observed so as to perpetuate his memory and afford the people of the province of his birth opportunity to give tangible expression of their gratitude for his patriotic services to the cause of Philippine freedom;

NOW, THEREFORE, I, Elpidio Quirino, President of the Philippines, by virtue of the powers vested in me by section 30 of the Revised Administrative Code, do hereby declare Thursday, August 19, 1948, as a special public holiday in the Province of Quezon.

IN WITNESS WHEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand and caused the seal of the Republic of the Philippines to be affixed.

Done in the City of Manila, this 17th day of August, in the year of Our Lord, nineteen hundred and forty-eight, and of the Independence of the Philippines, the third.
