DECLARING THE PERIOD FROM NOVEMBER 30 TO DECEMBER 6, 1948, AS FAMILY WEEK
WHEREAS, the Filipino family, repository of the cherished traditions of the race, is the basic foundation of our nation; and
WHEREAS, to make that foundation stronger and more enduring, it is necessary that family consciousness be aroused in the minds of our people;
NOW, THEREFORE, I, Elpidio Quirino, President of the Philippines, by virtue of the powers vested in me by law, do hereby declare the period from November 30 to December 6, 1948, as Family Week, and I call upon all our citizens, churches, schools and civic organizations to observe the same with appropriate ceremonies to the end that the beauty and integrity of the Filipino family may be treasured forever.
IN WITNESS WHEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand and caused the seal of the Republic of the Philippines to be affixed.
