DECLARING THE FIRST WEEK OF DECEMBER OF EVERY YEAR AS FAMILY WEEK



WHEREAS, the family is the foundation stone of the nation and the repository of its cherished traditions; and

WHEREAS, there is need of arousing family consciousness among our people with a view to strengthening the national foundation;

NOW, THEREFORE, I, Elpidio Quirino, President of the Philippines, by virtue of the powers vested in me by law, do hereby declare the first week of December of every year as Family Week, and I call upon all our citizens, churches, schools and civic organizations to observe the same with appropriate ceremonies.

IN WITNESS WHEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand and caused the seal of the Republic of the Philippines to be affixed.

Done in the City of Manila, this 30th day of September, in the year of Our Lord, nineteen hundred and forty-nine, and of the Independence of the Philippines, the third.
