[ PROCLAMATION NO. 156, October 31, 1949 ]

DECLARING TUESDAY, NOVEMBER 1, 1949, FROM TWELVE NOON TO TWELVE MIDNIGHT, A SPECIAL PUBLIC HOLIDAY.



WHEREAS, it is traditional for the people of the Philippines to pay their respects to the dead on All Saints ™ Day; and

WHEREAS, in deference to that tradition, the people should be given ample time to observe the day in all its religious fervor;

NOW, THEREFORE, I, Elpidio Quirino, President of the Philippines, by virtue of the powers vested in me by section 30 of the Revised Administrative Code, do hereby declare Tuesday, November 1, 1949, from twelve noon to twelve midnight, a special public holiday.

IN WITNESS WHEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand and caused the seal of the Republic of the Philippines to be affixed.

Done in the City of Manila, this 31st day of October, in the year of Our Lord, nineteen hundred and forty-nine, and of the Independence of the Philippines, the fourth.
