[ PROCLAMATION NO. 159, November 26, 1949 ]
REQUIRING THE DISPLAY OF THE PHILIPPINE FLAG AT HALF-MAST ON THE THIRTIETH DAY OF NOVEMBER OF EVERY YEAR.
WHEREAS, the thirtieth day of November of every year is National Heroes Day; and
WHEREAS, in fitting memory of our national heroes, it is necessary that the day be solemnly observed to the end that their glorious sacrifices for the nation may be better appreciated;
NOW, THEREFORE, I Elpidio Quirino, President of the Philippines, do hereby require that the Philippine Flag be displayed at half-mast on all government buildings and installations on the thirtieth day of November of every year.
IN WITNESS WHEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand and caused the seal of the Republic of the Philippines to be affixed.
Done in the City of Manila, this 26th day of November, in the year of Our Lord, nineteen hundred and forty-nine, and of the Independence of the Philippines, the fourth.
