[ PROCLAMATION NO. 203, August 11, 1950 ]

EXTENDING FOR TEN DAYS THE PERIOD OF THE SPECIAL SESSION OF THE CONGRESS OF THE PHILIPPINES AUTHORIZED UNDER PROCLAMATION NO. 196, DATED JULY 25, 1950.



WHEREAS, the special session of the Congress of the Philippines authorized under Proclamation No. 196 will expire at midnight of August 11, 1950; and

WHEREAS, the public interest requires that this special session be extended to consider and finish urgent legislative measures;

NOW, THEREFORE, I, Elpidio Quirino, President of the Philippines, by virtue of the powers vested in me by the Constitution, do hereby extend for a period of ten days from August 12, 1950, the period of the special session of the Congress of the Philippines authorized under Proclamation No. 196, dated July 25, 1950, for the purpose of considering pending bills and other urgent legislative measures as the President may submit to it.

All persons entitled to sit as members of the Congress of the Philippines are requested to take notice of this proclamation.
