[ PROCLAMATION NO. 252, May 17, 1951 ]
CALLING THE CONGRESS OF THE PHILIPPINES TO A SPECIAL SESSION
WHEREAS, the general appropriation bill for 1951-1952 failed of enactment in the last regular session of the Congress; and
WHEREAS, the public interest requires that the Congress be convened in special session in order to consider the general appropriation bill for 1951-1952;
NOW, THEREFORE, I, Elpidio Quirino, President of the Philippines, by virtue of the powers vested in .me by the Constitution, do hereby call the Congress of the Philippines to a special session for a period of ten days commencing at ten o clock in the morning of the 18th day of May, 1951, for the purpose of considering the general appropriation bill for 1951-1952.
All persons entitled to sit as members of the Congress of the Philippines are requested to take notice of this proclamation.
IN WITNESS WHEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand and caused the seal of the Republic of the Philippines to be affixed.
