DECLARING SATURDAY, OCTOBER 20, 1951, AS A SPECIAL PUBLIC HOLIDAY IN THE PROVINCE OF LEYTE.
In deference to the wishes of the people of Leyte, to whom the twentieth day of October is of special significance, being the anniversary of the landing on the shores of said province of the United States Armed Forces in their mission to liberate the country from enemy occupation, I, Elpidio Quirino, President of the Philippines, by virtue of the powers vested in me by section 30 of the Revised Administrative Code, do hereby declare Saturday, October 20, 1951, as a special public holiday in the Province of Leyte.
In witness whereof, I have hereunto set my hand and caused the seal of the Republic of the Philippines to be affixed.
Done in the City of Manila, this 19th day of October, in the year of Our Lord, nineteen hundred and fifty-one, and of the Independence of the Philippines, the sixth.
