DECLARING THURSDAY, NOVEMBER 22, 1951, AS A SPECIAL PUBLIC HOLIDAY FOR NATIONAL THANKSGIVING.
WHEREAS, it is desirable that a day be set aside on which to dedicate our noblest thoughts in prayer and thanksgiving to Almighty God for all the blessings He has showered upon us;
NOW, THEREFORE, I, Elpidio Quirino, President of the Philippines, do hereby declare Thursday, November 22, 1951, as a special public holiday for national thanksgiving. I call upon all the people to turn their thoughts and actions on that day towards Almighty God and offer Him a prayer of thanks for all the blessings He has bestowed upon us.
IN WITNESS WHEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand and caused the seal of the Republic of the Philippines to be affixed.
Done in the City of Manila, this 8th day of November, in the year of Our Lord, nineteen hundred and fifty-one, and of the Independence of the Philippines, the sixth.
