DECLARING THE PERIOD FROM JULY 13 TO 19 OF EVERY YEAR AS PHILIPPINES BUSINESS WEEK.



WHEREAS, the Chamber of Commerce of the Philippines, which was first organized in the year 1903, will observe its Fiftieth Anniversary on July 19, 1953;

WHEREAS, the Chamber of Commerce of the Philippines came into existence fifty years ago to fill the need for an organization to voice the views of Filipinos in business;

WHEREAS, since its organization in 1903, as the mouthpiece of business for our countrymen, the Chamber of Commerce of the Philippines has always advocated greater Filipino participation in business in the Philippines;

WHEREAS, it is necessary to focus the attention of the public to the progress that Philippine business has achieved and to encourage further growth of business so that the living standards of our people may be improved thereby and the economy of the nation advanced for the common weal;

NOW, THEREFORE, I, Elpidio Quirino, President of the Philippines, by virtue of the powers vested in me by law, do hereby declare the period from July 13 to 19 of every year as Philippines Business Week and enjoin the celebration thereof with appropriate ceremonies.

IN WITNESS WHEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand and caused the seal of the Republic of the Philippines to be affixed.
