CALLING FOR A SPECIAL ELECTION TO FILL THE EXISTING VACANCY IN THE OFFICE OF MAYOR, MUNICIPALITY OF VICTORIA, PROVINCE OF TARLAC



WHEREAS, the election for the office of mayor of the municipality of Victoria, Province of Tarlac, held on November 13, 1951, resulted in a failure to elect, the person receiving the highest number of votes for said office during the said election and proclaimed as mayor having been declared ineligible to hold the said office;

NOW, THEREFORE, by virtue of the authority conferred upon me by section 22 of Republic Act No. 180, known as the Revised Election Code, in relation to section 21(c) of the same code, I, Elpidio Quirino, President of the Philippines, do hereby proclaim and call a special election in the municipality of Victoria, Province of Tarlac, to take place on Tuesday, the tenth day of November, nineteen hundred and fifty-three, to coincide with the regular election of the President and the Vice-President of the Philippines, eight senators, and the members of the House of Representatives, for the purpose of electing the mayor who is to fill the unexpired portion of the term of office of the mayor of said municipality.

The provisions of the Revised Election Code insofar as they are applicable shall be followed in the conduct of the special election herein called.

IN WITNESS WHEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand and caused the seal of the Republic of the Philippines to be affixed.

Done in Vigan, Ilocos Sur, this 9th day of October, in the year of Our Lord, nineteen hundred and fifty-three, and of the Independence of the Philippines, the eighth.
