[ PROCLAMATION NO. 45, December 03, 1947 ]
DESIGNATING THE PERIOD FROM DECEMBER 15, 1947 TO JANUARY 15, 1948 AS THE PERIOD FOR THE NATIONAL FUND CAMPAIGN OF THE BOYS SCOUTS OF THE PHILIPPINES
Whereas, in accordance with a resolution passed at the last annual National Council Meeting of the Boy Scouts of the Philippines, the 1948 National Fund Campaign for the Organization has been fixed for the period from December 15, 1947 to January 15, 1948;
Whereas, the Boy Scouts of the Philippines is a public corporation created under Commonwealth Act No. 111, and officially recognized as an independent Boy Scout association by the International Scout Body on July 4, 1946, for the purpose of promoting character development and citizenship training among the youth of the Philippines;
Whereas, this Organization needs funds to enable it to carry out on its normal operations, to intensify its training program in order to meet the need for more trained Scout leaders all over the country, and to meet its obligations as a member of the International Scout Body;
Whereas, the past achievements of the Boy Scouts of the Philippines in advancing the physical, mental and moral growth of Filipino youth emphasize the need for our people to give it their moral and material support so that it can continue to be an effective, potent force in the lives of our youth;
Whereas, the annual National Fund Campaign of the Organization gives our people an opportunity to express, in a concrete way, their appreciation for the work that is being done by it, and insure for it the means by which it can achieve its objectives;
Now, therefore, I, Manuel Roxas, President of the Philippines, do hereby designate and set aside the period from December 15, 1947 to January 15, 1948, for the Boy Scouts of the Philippines to conduct its 1948 National Fund Campaign and raise funds for its avowed purpose. Further, I call upon all government officials and employees and all citizens and residents of the Philippines to assist in this campaign and to give it their entire support so that the Boy Scouts Organization may be assured of funds that will enable it to carry on its work all over the country and administer its program to as many of our youth of Scout age as possible.
In witness whereof, I have hereunto set my hand and caused the seal of the Republic of the Philippines to be affixed.
Done at the City of Baguio, this 3rd day of December in the year of Our Lord, nineteen hundred and forty-seven, and of the Independence of the Philippines, the second.
(Sgd.) MANUEL ROXAS
President of the Philippines
