DECLARING THURSDAY, DECEMBER 31, 1953 AS SPECIAL PUBLIC HOLIDAY



WHEREAS, the thirtieth day (Wednesday) of December 1953 and the first day (Friday) of January 1954 being holidays, the thirty-first day (Thursday) of December 1953 may be declared as special public holiday without prejudice to the public interest;

NOW, THEREFORE, I, Ramon Magsaysay, President of the Philippines, by virtue of the powers vested in me by section 30 of the Revised Administrative Code, do hereby proclaim Thursday, December thirty-first, nineteen hundred and fifty-three, a special public holiday.

IN WITNESS WHEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand and caused the seal of the Republic of the Philippines to be affixed.

Done in the City of Manila, this 30th day of December, in the year of Our Lord, nineteen hundred and fifty-three, and of the Independence of the Philippines, the eighth.
