DECLARING THE PERIOD FROM AUGUST 24 TO 30, 1955, AS THE œGOLDEN JUBILEE WEEK COMMEMORATING FIFTY YEARS OF RED CROSS SERVICE IN THE PHILIPPINES 



WHEREAS, 1955 is the fiftieth anniversary of the organization of Red Cross service in the Philippines:

WHEREAS, the Philippine Reel Cross has contributed for half a century to the amelioration of suffering, the promotion of health, and the development of national consciousness of humanitarian service among our people;

WHEREAS, Red Cross volunteers and workers all over the country have formed civic groups to work for the proper celebration of the fiftieth anniversary of Red Cross service in the Philippines;

NOW, THEREFORE, I. Ramon Magsaysay, President of the Philippines, do hereby proclaim the period from August 24 to 30, 1955, as the œGolden Jubilee Week Commemorating Fifty Years of Red Cross Service in the Philippines,  and call upon all government entities and instrumentalities as well as all private organizations and individuals to join in making the celebration significant and memorable.

IN WITNESS WHEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand and caused the seal of the Republic of the Philippines to be affixed.

Done in the City of Manila, this 22nd day of June, in the year of Our Lord, nineteen hundred and fifty-five, and of the Independence of the Philippines, the ninth.
