[ PROCLAMATION NO. 1056, December 01, 2020 ]

AMENDING PROCLAMATION NO. 1053 DATED 18 NOVEMBER 2020 BY DECLARING FRIDAY, 04 DECEMBER 2020, A SPECIAL (NON-WORKING) DAY IN THE PROVINCE OF CEBU, AS WELL AS IN THE HIGHLY URBANIZED CITIES OF CEBU, LAPU-LAPU, AND MANDAUE



WHEREAS, 04 December 2020, Friday, will mark the commemoration of the 104 th birth anniversary of Governor Sergio Osme a Jr.;

WHEREAS, Governor Osme a Jr. served as Governor of Cebu Province which still covers then the cities of Cebu, Mandaue, and Lapu-Lapu from 1951 to 1959; as Mayor of Cebu City from 1959 to 1963; and was elected as senator from 1965 to 1971; and

WHEREAS, it is but fitting and proper that the people of the Province of Cebu and the cities of Cebu, Lapu-Lapu, and Mandaue be given full opportunity to celebrate and participate in the occasion with appropriate ceremonies, subject to community quarantine, social distancing, and other public health measures;

NOW, THEREFORE, I, SALVADOR C. MEDIALDEA, Executive Secretary, by authority of the President, RODRIGO ROA DUTERTE, do hereby amend Proclamation No. 1053 dated 18 November 2020 and declare Friday, 04 December 2020, a special (non-working) day in the Province of Cebu, Cebu City, Lapu-Lapu City, and Mandaue City.
