[ REPUBLIC ACT NO. 50, October 04, 1946 ]
AN ACT TO CONVERT THE SUBURB OF LUCENA OF THE MUNICIPALITY OF SANTA BARBARA, PROVINCE OF ILOILO, INTO A REGULAR MUNICIPALITY.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the Philippines in Congress assembled:
SECTION 1. The suburb of Lucena of the municipality of Santa Barbara, Province of Iloilo, comprising the barrios of Baclayan, Badiang, Bilidan, Bita-og Gaja, Bita-og Pasil, Bololacao, Cabilauan, Cagban, Cabugao, Calumbuyan, Da-mires, Dauis, Lucena, General Delgado, Guinobatan, Janipa-an Este, Janipa-an Oeste, Jilieuon Este, Jilicuon Oeste, Poblacion Lucena and Wariwari is separated from the said municipality of Santa Barbara to be converted into a new regular municipality in accordance with Chapter fifty-seven of the Revised Administrative Code and its amendments.
SEC. 2. The name of the new municipality shall be "Lucena" and the seat of its government shall be where the barrio known as "Poblacion Lucena" is at present located.
SEC. 3. Upon the approval of this Act, the President of the Philippines shall appoint the elective officials of the new municipality who shall hold office until their successors shall have been duly elected in the next general elections.
SEC. 4. This Act shall take effect upon its approval.
