[ MEMORANDUM CIRCULAR NO. 43, January 17, 2024 ]
DIRECTING ALL GOVERNMENT AGENCIES AND INSTRUMENTALITIES, INCLUDING GOVERNMENT-OWNED OR CONTROLLED CORPORATIONS, AND ENCOURAGING THE PRIVATE SECTOR, TO SUPPORT THE 11TH ASIAN AGE GROUP CHAMPIONSHIPS
WHEREAS, Section 17, Article II of the Constitution provides that the State shall give priority to education, science and technology, arts, culture, and sports to foster patriotism and nationalism, accelerate social progress, and promote total human liberation and development;
WHEREAS, Section 19, Article XIV of the Constitution provides that the State shall promote physical education and encourage sports programs, league competitions, and amateur sports, including training form international competitions, to foster self-discipline, teamwork, and excellence for the development of a healthy and alert citizenry;
WHEREAS, the 11th Asian Age Group Championships is a highly anticipated and prestigious swimming competition that brings together young swimmers from across Asia and showcase the talent and potential of the region's emerging swimmers;
WHEREAS, Philippine Aquatics, Inc., the national sports association for aquatic sports in the Philippines, will host the 11th Asian Age Group Championships from 26 February to 9 March 2024 at the New Clark City Aquatics Center, Capas City, Tarlac; and
WHEREAS, the hosting of the said championship event in the Philippines will bring international prestige, publicity, goodwill, and economic benefits to the country;
NOW, THEREFORE, all government agencies and instrumentalities, including government-owned or -controlled corporations, are hereby directed, and the private sector is encouraged, to extend full support and necessary assistance towards the successful hosting the 11th Asian Age Group Championships in the Philippines.
This Circular shall take effect immediately.
