WHEREAS, Jose Avelino, who was born on 05 August 1890 in Calbayog, Western Samar, served as the first Senate President after the Second World War;

WHEREAS, on 05 August 2024, Monday, the City of Calbayog will commemorate the birth anniversary of Jose Dira Avelino;

WHEREAS, it is but fitting and proper that the people of the City of Calbayog be given full opportunity to participate in the occasion and enjoy the celebration;

NOW, THEREFORE, I, LUCAS P. BERSAMIN, Executive Secretary, by authority of the President, FERDINAND R, MARCOS, JR., do hereby declare Monday, 05 August 2024, a special (non-working) day in the City of Calbayog.
